If you need a tool that you can use on your Windows PC to create, edit, playback, record, and print musical scores, then you’re very well advised to get this NoteWorthy Software developed application. NoteWorthy Composer, a handy and user friendly music notation software authoring tool, can do all these things.

You can install NoteWorthy Composer on a PC powered by a 32 or 64-bit Windows edition, anything from Windows 95 or 98 up to Windows Vista or Windows 7. To install the application, you will have to download and run a 1MB executable. Downloading the file will take little time; going through the setup wizard that shows up when you run the file will also take little time.

Launch NoteWorthy Composer and you will be presented with a prompt that invites you to open one of several built-in samples or start your own musical creation. You will also be presented with a “Did you know?” prompt, that can get annoying after a while. If it does, you can always uncheck the “Show at startup box” and it will no longer be displayed.

The application’s interface is fairly easy to figure out. The score you’re working on takes up the better part of the interface; it is the focal area of the interface. Above it there are buttons for several functions NoteWorthy Composer can perform, while at the bottom you have a keyboard that you can use. As a talented musician, it will take you little time to get accustomed to the interface.

As mentioned above, NoteWorthy Composer comes with a few built-in samples. You’re well advised to load these samples to get a better feel for what this handy music annotation software authoring tool can do. Once you get accustomed to the application and familiarize yourself with the functionality it has to offer, feel free to use it to create your own score. You can use NoteWorthy Composer to create, edit, play back, record, and print musical scores in pure music notation.

Please note that NoteWorthy Composer is only free to try. While the trial lets you test all the application’s functionality, it does not let you save your work.

NoteWorthy Composer brings ease of use and powerful notation authoring functionality to the Windows OS.

Pros

NoteWorthy Composer works with just about any Windows edition. The application comes with a nice selection of samples. Choose one of several templates for creating your own score. Use NoteWorthy Composer to create, edit, play back, record, and print musical scores in pure music notation.

Cons

The trial does not let you save your work.
